According to the Chinese calendar, 2023 is the Year of the Water Rabbit. It start on January 22.
On Tuesday, January 17, at the Poznan University of Technology, students and lecturers, who participate in Chinese language courses, joined the tradition of celebrating the Chinese New Year.
The Chinese New Year is celebrated according to the traditional lunisolar calendar and it’s one of the most important holidays in the China. The holiday is called Spring Festival and is celebrated every year by its inhabitants.
The event, organized on this occasion by Ms. Qi Xin, a teacher of Chinese at the Poznan University of Technology, was a great opportunity to learn more about Chinese traditions. The invited guests had the task to write wishes, using Chinese script, and join the Chinese cooking workshop.
Chinese dumplings with juicy stuffing in the soft dough are great as a party dish.
And rabbits with a fortune, prepared by Mrs. Qi Xin, were a pleasant surprise for all guests.
